Over the weekend, thousands of Turkish and Syrian temporary residents, alongside Canadian allies, hit the streets in 8 major cities across the country. The synchronized marches demanded a temporary public policy to extend expiring open work permits, highlighted by a major last-minute route adjustment in Toronto to ensure a safe and highly visible rally.
Although the parliamentary petition was not approved, the TS2023 community refuses to step back. Having contributed to Canada’s economy and society for three years, members are raising their voices louder to ensure IRCC makes the right decision and grants the work permit extension they thoroughly deserve.
